Cheese Herb Chevre<\/li><li>4 TBSP Ricotta<\/li><li>1\/8 of a Lime Zested<\/li><\/ul><\/li><li>1.5 small Red Onions Sliced<\/li><li>15 Cherries with pit removed<\/li><li>Shiitake Mushrooms<\/li><li>Bag of Spinach<\/li><li><strong>Chunky Tomato Sauce<\/strong><ul><li>5 Tomatoes Diced<\/li><li>2 tsp Tomato Paste<\/li><li>1 TBSP Olive Oil<\/li><li>2 Cloves of Garlic Diced<\/li><li>5 Tomatoes Diced<\/li><li>2 tsp Pesto<\/li><li>1.5 tsp Honey<\/li><li>1\/2 tsp Red Pepper<\/li><li>Salt and Pepper<\/li><li>Grated Parmesan Cheese<\/li><\/ul><\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Makes 4 calzones<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Directions<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\"><li><strong>Chunky Tomato Sauce<\/strong><ul><li>Heat olive oil in a sauce pan and saute garlic until fragrant<\/li><li>Add diced tomatoes, honey, pesto, and red pepper.<\/li><li>Season with salt and pepper<\/li><li>Saute on low for 1 hour until thick<\/li><li>Season with Parmesan cheese<\/li><\/ul><\/li><li><strong>Dough<\/strong><ul><li><a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/sallysbakingaddiction.com\/homemade-whole-wheat-pizza-crust-recipe\/\" target=\"_blank\">Dough recipe<\/a><\/li><li>Substituted olive oil for pesto olive oil<\/li><\/ul><\/li><li><strong>Calzones<\/strong><ul><li>Saute all Veggies together with olive oil, salt, and pepper<\/li><li>Assemble placing ricotta cheese mixture first and adding the remaining ingredients.<\/li><li>Close calzone and crimp edges<\/li><li>Grease baking pan<\/li><li>Poke circular holes in calzone for air vents with a pairing Knife<\/li><li>Brush either egg white or egg yolk over calzone<\/li><li>Grate Parmesan cheese<\/li><li>Bake at 500 \u00b0F for 12 minutes<\/li><\/ul><\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Critiques<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\"><li><strong>Dough<\/strong><ul><li>Crust not crispy enough? Try 525 \u00b0 for 7 minutes and rotate calzone half way through<\/li><li>Increase dough size to 10 oz<\/li><li>Make dough a day ahead of time.<\/li><li>Heat pizza stone in oven first before placing calzone on it<\/li><\/ul><\/li><li><strong>Calzone<\/strong><ul><li>We can add spices, oil washes, parmesan after cooked.<\/li><li>Can use a ravioli tool instead of crimping to close.<\/li><li>I couldn&#8217;t taste the cherries enough.
