Instructions

    Make batter

  1. In a large bowl mix egg, soy sauce, 1 TBSP siracha and water.
  2. In a separate bowl combine flour and baking powder.
  3. Slowly mix in flour mixture to egg mixture to avoid lumps.
  4. Assemble

  5. Cook protein of choice in large frying pan. I use my iron skillet. Once the protein is cooked remove it from the pan.
  6. Set the same frying pan to medium heat and add diced onion. Cook until tender.
  7. Add ginger garlic paste and stir to combine.
  8. Add cabbage and cook cabbage until tender. Stir often. I like my cabbage a little browned.
  9. Add batter and stir to combine.
  10. Cover pan and cook for 3 – 5 minutes on medium heat.
  11. I slice into four wedges and then turn over in pan and fry for another 3 – 5 minutes on medium heat.
  12. Top with mayo, okonomiyaki sauce, and toppings of choice.
